1929 a Book that was a long read but ended up a Dissapointment if you want lessons for today!

It is a history book about the crash - but no lessons for today!
I finally made my way through the book. It is a huge collection of facts sequenced as anecdotes. Each one makes for interesting reading and is well researched.
Unfortunately the author Andrew Ross Sorkin never addresses the obvious similarities to the age we are living in now. Only in the epilogue does he make some observations that allude to our current level of record highs and valuations in the markets.
This makes it a good book if you want details on 1929 crash, but it dissapoints every reader that is looking for an insight on either the cause of the crash or if there are any lessons that can be applied to today.
